Hockey Program

The Kendall Ice Arena Ice Hockey Program in Miami offers a comprehensive and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner learning to skate or an experienced player aiming to enhance your skills, the program provides year-round opportunities to develop and enjoy the sport. Starting with the "Learn to Skate USA" classes, participants can progress to the "Learn to Play" hockey program upon reaching the Basic 4 level, where they receive instruction in essential hockey skills. The arena hosts youth and adult leagues, including the Miami Toros Travel teams, and offers clinics, camps, and private lessons to cater to individual development needs. All coaches are USA Hockey certified and undergo annual background checks, ensuring a safe and professional training environment. Additionally, Kendall Ice Arena serves as the home ice for the University of Miami's club hockey team, providing a platform for collegiate-level competition. With its diverse programs and dedicated coaching staff, Kendall Ice Arena is a hub for ice hockey enthusiasts in South Florida.

HOCKEY PROGRAMS

"Learn To Skate USA Group Classes" and "Learn to Play" Hockey Classes

 

If you can't skate, you will start off in our great  "Learn to Skate USA" Group Classes. You will learn to skate forward and backward, stop, turn, and much more! As soon as you have your "Feet under you", you can be evaluated by our Hockey Director and switched over to our Learn to Play Hockey Classes. We recommend that skaters are at the Basic 4 level which includes forward and backward skating skills, stopping and turning.

The Learn to Play-Hockey program teaches all the Hockey fundamentals. You must skate at the beginner level and have hockey gear. Here you will learn the rules of the game, stick handling, shooting, and gameplay. It won't be long before you are ready to play in our hockey leagues.
