Kendall Ice Arena's hockey department is excited to announce the return of the University of Miami 'Canes hockey club to Kendall Ice Arena for the 2021-2022 College Hockey Federation season.

Welcome to our hockey program. Here you will find an environment of individuals who share your enjoyment of the great sport of ice hockey. An environment of recreation, mutual respect, fun, friendship and energy.

We have programs that can cater to any age or skill level. Whether you are getting back into the sport after time off, want to pass on the love of the game to your children, or have never skated before, there is a spot for you here at Kendall Ice Arena.

Programs are, “on-going” throughout the year, and are more affordable than you think. We have youth and adult leagues, camps and clinics for beginners through advanced players. No matter what age you are, our professional and experienced coaching staff can offer high level training or beginning instruction, either in our class format or privately one on one. All KIA Hockey Coaches are certified by USA Hockey and Background Checked annually.

Look further through our web site and learn about our programs. I am sure we will have something geared for whatever your needs may be. If you have additional questions you may contact the hockey office by calling 305-386-8288 (after 4 pm) or through email: Of course we encourage you to stop by the rink and talk with us further about all of our programming.

Again, welcome to the Kendall Ice Arena and we hope to see you on the ice.

"Learn To Skate USA Group Classes" and "Learn to Play" Hockey Classes

If you can't skate, you will start off in our great  "Learn to Skate USA" Group Classes. You will learn to skate forward and backwards, stop, turn and much more! As soon as you have your "Feet under you", you can be evaluated by our Hockey Director and switched over to our Learn to Play Hockey Classes. We recommend that skaters be at the Basic 4 level which includes forward and backward skating skills, stopping and turning.

The Learn to Play-Hockey program teaches all the Hockey fundamentals. You must skate at the beginner level and have hockey gear. Here you will learn the rules of the game, stick handling, shooting and game play. It won't be long before you are ready to play in our hockey leagues.

For information please phone 305-386-8288 after 4pm, or stop by the Skating Academy Office. You may also email our hockey department at
