Ice" Training Programs:
“Axels, Doubles and Beyond"!
This jump technique and conditioning class is for advanced skaters working on
axels and double jumps. This class is designed to be sport specific to help
develop the skater for competitive figure skating. This class includes, agility , strength,
rotational jump technique, 4D Skating Slideboard and spinner
exercises. Skaters must have athletic footwear (no exceptions).
Tuesday evening 7:00 to 7:45pm Pre Preliminary Freeskate and up.
Ballet Class
Emily
Craig teaches two classes on Thursday. Ballet
class is very beneficial to skaters. The skills learned in class will save
valuable ice time. This class will include basic technique study, "Port de
Bras" and stretching. Center floor exercises target abdominal strength, spinal
flexibility and agility. Ballet shoes, skating or ballet attire is required (no
exceptions).
Thursday 5:30pm Low, 6:30pm High
Prerequisite - Freeskate level and up.
"Off-Ice" Strength and Conditioning
Felix
Flores graduated from Florida International university with a B.S. in
Exercise Physiology. He is also certified by the National Strength and
Conditioning association as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
His primary focus is strength and conditioning and sport specific exercises,
to promote lean muscle gains, correct muscular inbalances, improve sport
performance and promote a healthy state of well-being.
If you are interested in improving your muscle
strength for higher jumps, your fleibility for spins and spirals, and your
overall fitness then this workshop is for you!

Participation in off-ice training programs are
well established in the world of figure skating as one way skaters can
maximize their peformance and help avoid injury. Identifying past or
existing problems and deficiencies in flexibility or strength can also help
to prevent injuries or plateaus in performance as skates move into the
competitive season.
What should you bring to the workshop?
Bring your best attitude! You will also need a bottle of water, athletic
shoes, clothing that is appropriate for working out (skating attire is
fine). NO Crocs, Ugg boots, flip flops, sandals or bare feet. Please note,
that if you do not have appropreae footwear you will not be allowed to
participate.
Class Times
Group Classes will be conducted on two days: High Level Friday at 6:00pm and
Low Level Saturday at 12am. Felix is also available for private and semi

4 D Skating "Slideboard" System
KIA
is proud to introduce the 4D Skating "Slideboard" System for our "Off - Ice"
training program. The system was unveiled recently in PS Magazine and also
at the 2009 PSA Conference in Orlando. The low impact slideboard exercises
are sport specific and helps increase vertical jump height and core
strength. The many additional exercises include the traditional slideboard
and spinner attachments.
