The Stars of the Kendall Ice Arena Skating Academy (young and old) performed the "Nutcracker" to a sold out audience on December 18, 2011

Fun Group Class Instruction

Kendall Ice Arena is the only ice arena in Miami/Dade County. Our Skating Academy is taught by experts and we utilize the US Figure Skating Basic Skills Program. The Basic Skills program will help you learn all the fundamentals of figure skating — it's simply the best way to take to the ice. The Basic Skills program is designed by U.S. Figure Skating to be the best beginning ice skating program that is fun, challenging and rewarding.

The curriculum is designed to keep skaters enthusiastic about learning from the time they begin lessons until the time they reach their goals. Whether your goal is to achieve Olympic fame or simply enjoy the recreational benefits of skating, Basic Skills is for you! The entire Basic Skills program has special classes for many facets of skating including free skate, pairs, synchronized skating, choreography (Artistry in Motion) and hockey.

 Basic Skills Class Benefits & Schedule

You can start at any time! Our Classes are scheduled all year and include: Eight 30 min. Group Classes for $110*  Eight free practices on Public Sessions following class "Cool" Skate School Fun! Testing Special Events (Members may compete in the USFS Basic Skills Series) *Plus $15 Annual USFS Basic Skills Registration Fee Skate Rental is $3.00 *Skaters may require more than one semester to complete a class level.
