The Coaches and Instructors at Kendall Ice Arena are all members of PSA and USFSI!   We have coaches who have specialized knowledge in all of the areas of figure skating! They have years of teaching experience ranging from recreational to PSA Master Rated Freestyle! This experience covers Beginners (Tots to Adults), Moves In The Field, Freeskating, Ice Dancing and Pair Skating! Whether you are a recreational or advanced competitive skater, we have a coach suited for your needs! KIA has two sheets of ice available for training measuring 200' x 85'! Making the invisible, visible! New! The Dartfish Video Analysis system allows skaters and coaches to use cutting-edge technology to evaluate, compare and improve their skating. Skaters may record their skating, view it in slow motion and speed up learning time.  They may also compare it to previous recordings and recordings of other skaters. Dartfish is available by appointment only.

To enhance our skaters "on-ice" training, we have a beautiful mirrored ballet/off-ice studio. where we offer a variety of classes. These classes include Ballet, jump training and "off-ice" conditioning. In addition the upstairs "South Florida Boxing Club" offers our skaters a complete gym (upstairs) with state of the art weight training and cardiovascular equipment. Certified personal trainers are available for skaters to complete their training program.

Jump Harness Training Portable "Fishing Pole" and "Overhead track" Harnesses available for spotting advanced double and triple jumps! 2010 USFS South Florida Basic Skills Series Exciting competitions held at local arenas: Pines Ice Arena, Kendall Ice Arena, Glacier Ice & Snow and Skatezone.  There are events for every age and ability level! PRIVATE LESSONS There are two ways to arrange a private lesson: 1. You can give us the day and time that is best suited to you. We will arrange a private lesson for you or your child with a qualified coach. Please pick up a private lesson request form at the skate counter or e-mail the Skating Academy Office! 2. You are welcome to come and observe the coaches at work and approach them directly to arrange lesson day and time. All Coaches and Instructors are independent contractors who use the Kendall Ice Arena facilities to teach private lessons; therefore they set their own schedule and fees. All fees must be paid at the Skating Academy Office prior to the lesson. These fees are for instruction only and do not include the price of admission or skate rental. "The Dream Starts Here"! The Kendall Ice Arena Skating Academy offers USFS Testing, competitions, Shows and Recitals for our Figure Skaters.  We are dedicated to helping  you reach your  goals!

Top Skaters Training at KIA Karina Johnson (Left) 2009 and 2010 Danish Sr. Ladies Champion, Competitor in two ISU 2008 International Jr. Grand Prix Competitions (Placed in top ten in both events). Karina also competed at the 2009 and 2010 European Championships and the 2009 and 2010 Junior World Championships (!6th overall). She will be competing at the 2010 World Championships in Torino, Italy. Avyane Lee (Above Right) 6th Place Juvenile Ladies South Atlantics Regional Championships competed at the 2009 Jr. Nationals Competition in Lake Placid, New York. Luiz Manella (Left) Competed at the 2010 U.S. Junior National Championships. Luiz placed 4th in the Intermediate Mens division at the 2010 USFS South Atlantics Regional Figure Skating Championships in Rockville, Maryland.
