Karina Johnson is the 2008 Danish Junior Ladies Champion. She competed in two ISU International Junior Grand Prix events this year!  Zagreb/Croatia Sept.27 - 30 and Chemnitz/Germany  Oct.11-14.  Karina trains daily at KIA. 2008 Figure Skating Training Kendall Ice Arena is devoted to providing the best possible training environment for our figure skating program. We offer challenging on and off ice programs designed to progress the skater through higher levels of testing and competitive skating. Summer Training Camp USFS Test Sessions hosted by the Miami FSC, inc. Expert Skate Sharpening and custom boot fitting Overhead Track and portable Jump Harness Training Fully stocked Pro Shop All Coaches and Instructors are members of PSA PSA Nationally Rated and Ranked Coaches All year program Dartfish is state-of-the-art video analysis software tool that is fast becoming an industry standard in figure skating coaching.  All skaters can benefit from this tool, from  recreational  to elite competitive! Dartfish allows the coach to capture video with a remote control, DV camera, and a laptop computer.  The computer allows the coach to store and analyze huge amounts of video material quickly and give appropriate feedback almost instantly.  This speeds the learning process and creates a safer learning environment. It is possible to  publish the video to CDROM, DVDROM, or by email. This makes consulting and distance learning a snap.  Imagine being able to send your individual  program to a coach, technical specialist or judge using this detailed video analysis tool to provide feedback on skills, technical elements, provide the levels of ISJ elements performed, etc.  The possibilities are enormous! 2008 USFS South Florida Basic Skills Series A series of exciting competitions hosted by South Florida Arenas. Competitors earn points toward a final placement trophy.  This years 2008 "Series" will be held at Kendall Ice Arena, Glacier Ice & Snow and Ice Zone. There are events for every age and ability level. Competition Package and Information *2007 PSA Florida State Coaches Workshop Kendall Ice Arena hosted the PSA (Professional Skaters Association) 2007 Florida State Coaches Workshop on July 28, 2007.  The guest speaker was ISU International Technical Specialist, Maria McLean.  The topics covered the IJS, Spins, Footwork and Spiral Sequences.  Kendall Ice Arena is recognized by PSA as a progressive training facility and a member of the "Excellence On Ice" program.  All coaches are members of PSA and USFS.  They attend seminars and workshops to stay current on rule changes and coaching techniques.
