Annual Summer Elite Training Camp

Karina Johnson Russian Split

June  to August

Kendall Ice Arena is offering Summer Training Camp for high level skaters. Freeskate to Senior Levels. Skaters will be divided into "Tracks according to their test level. 

Structured Activities and Workshops

Camp includes 7 1/2 hours of supervised activities led by KIA Coaches and Counselors.  Each day will include Two Freestyle Sessions (up to three hours) plus, "On-Ice" and "Off-Ice" Jump Technique and Conditioning, Moves In The Field, Footwork, Spin Technique, Artistry, Ballet, Hop, IJS Rules and more!

Learn to skate summer camp

Kendall Ice Arena is offering a great Summer Camp for Beginner Boys and Girls (Basic Skills Levels 1-8) between the ages of 7 and 12.  The camp includes daily on and off-ice activities that will challenge your child. Camp Skaters may be dropped off mornings at 7:30am and picked up at 4:00pm.  (After care available from 4 to 5:30pmā€”Free of charge)

2015 Technical Specialist Critiques with USFS National Technical Specialist Kate Horan

Technical Specialis Critique Seminar

Kendall Ice Arena invited USFS National Technical Specialist Kate Horan from Virginia on April 25 and 26 to conduct a seminar for skaters planning to compete at the upcoming South Atlantics Regional Championships. Mrs. Horan started off with a Q & A Session and discussed important issues from the viewpoint of the IJS Technical Panel. The Miami FSC Regionals Team then presented their Long Programs on Saturday evening and Short programs on Sunday morning. The skaters were critiqued by the specialist who offered constructive IJS criticisim and tips. USFS Judge Christina Vandermissen joined in on Sunday morning to offer comments from the judges point of view. Parents, coaches and skaters all unanimously agreed that it was a very positive and productive weekend! Many thanks to Kate and Christina!



Paula Wagener Seminar for "Artistry In Motion" Summer 2013 and Spring 2014

Paula WagenerPaula is classical trained in ballet and a PSA Master Rated Choreography and Syle Coach. She developed the Artistry in Motion program for USFS and has worked with many famous skaters over the years. She gives on and off ice seminar classes during her stay and also works with many of our skaters on their competition programs.






Don Laws Spring Break Seminar held March 13 & 14, 2012

Kendall Ice Arena was pleased to have World and Olympic Coach Don Laws for this exciting two day event. Mr. Laws is a renown coach. Among his former students were Scott Hamilton, Michael Wise and Patrick Chan.







Judy Blumberg "Power, Push and Presence" Seminar

Judy BlumbergThe Miami FSC and Kendall Ice Arena hosted this exciting seminar on July 26, 2009. Judy frequently guest coaches at KIA as a choreography specialist. Judy is a former US Dance Champion, World Bronze Medalist and Olympian.






2010 PSA New "Moves In The Field" Seminar

On and off-ice educational event for Coaches and Judges on the "New" Moves in the Field. The seminar was held at Kendall Ice Arena on April 25, 2010. The Seminar presenter was Cynthia Van Valkenburg and USFS Judge William Rowe.
